ICH performances staged in Luxi County

An intangible cultural heritage performance was held in Luxi County, Xiangxi Prefecture on the evening of August 15, attracting many citizens and tourists.

Such intangible cultural heritage (ICH) projects like Tan’s Miao fist, Jiafangyan Huadeng opera and the wooden bench dragon dance with strong local characteristics were staged in turns. The inheritors of ICH performed vividly and showcased the ancient cultural heritage. The crowd were treated to such thrilling performances as climbing the knife ladder, playing darts with blindfolds and stepping on light bulbs.


 
The ICH exhibition area displayed various precious ICH handicrafts from the national level to the county level. The chrysanthemum stone carvings, Miao cross-stitch works, Tahu paper cuttings, Nuo masks and Xiangxi wood carvings showcased the profound culture of Luxi County.

This event is a cultural feast, and an important way to inherit and promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation. The county government will introduce folk performances, ICH exhibitions, calligraphy and art exhibitions and other activities into the Yuanshui Painting Wall Scenic Area, aiming to enrich tourists’ tourism experience, promote the development of the local tourism industry, and advance the deep integration of culture and tourism.
